Introduction to the schools of yoga – lights on authentic yoga tradition by Acharya Girish Jha ( it will provided if work is completed before the start of the course)
Any person above the age of 21 has some background understanding, knowledge and reading of the philosophy of yoga is eligible for the course. The person should be open to understand the divergent and synthetic points of views of philosophy of Tantra and ready to apply in life aims at human conscious evolution leading to excellence in life.
30% - EXAM Ess each with a minimum 300 words. Essays may be as long as necessary but must be at least 300 words each. Each essay written must demonstrate an understanding of main pints of the question and its synthesis with current scientific trend and relevance today.
says showing an understanding of the materials covered in class and assigned readings in response to question
30% - Persistent practice and writing and understanding experiences with reference to goal of Tantra
Regular, persistent and consistent practices are the keys to understanding Tantra. Each practice will be defined and customized the master to help students to move into experiential learning.
25% - Term project.
The aim of the course is to acquire knowledge, understanding, practice and experience the eternal tradition of yoga as it had been practiced in a master-disciple tradition for over 6000 years. Therefore it is important for every student to write Term Paper to meet the following requirements
• Minimum length of the term Project should be 3000 words.
• The introduction should be a master or author or philosophical position from among those that we talk, discuss and practice in the course. (There are over 800 texts on Tantra and it is in the interest of the students to avoid confusion).
• Research the topic, master, author or the practices as much as possible to collect divergent views present in the modern age so that justice to the topic can be done.
• Minimum 5 references should be used for Term project. A text book, website/s, talks of great masters, synthetic view as postulated by modern thinkers, preferably Authentic Yoga and Tantra masters or well-known scientists to avoid pseudo-science and its explanations. References/bibliography/works should cited with MLA( Modern Language Association) style, can be found online.
• All students are encouraged to read first – how to write a research paper and follow the system /approach in writing paper.
• It is very important to present both divergent and synthetic points of views of science and Tantra in order to arrive at conclusion explaining any position of Tantra, will be highly encouraged.
• A couple attending the course can send term project together. Both are encouraged to use their understanding and can also suggest rational understanding of the topic of the term Project.
• Images, graphics, sketches and other relevant materials are encouraged to clear the point of view of Tantra.
• Email the all papers in word format
15% - quiz questions posted in each lecture.
Quizzes or the test of knowledge in the form of rapid series of questions had also been the part of Authentic Yoga Tradition, however, the format, were different in an oral (master-disciple tradition). The course will introduce the same quizzes after every four weeks of the study to students.
There will be a quiz after every four weeks of lessons of 12 hours. The questions will may be general questions for discussions but many times it will require one to demonstrate a clear and deeper understanding of the topics taught.
A brief of entire quiz session should be sent by email with a paragraph. It is a good practice to paste a picture, address, email in your word file for record and the best answer, after discussion will also be included in the text in future.
Session here means weekly 3 contact hours. Every session will have lecture, practice, question and answers, readings from the texts of authentic yoga tradition. 3 hours of lectures, talks and practice will help students to contemplate, read the reference materials for clear and deeper understanding of the tradition. The fifth week will be for brain storm, contemplation, quizzes, questions and answers.
It is expected from all students to devote min 5 hours as non-contact hours for the study, collecting, reading the materials relevant to the course and same number of hours for the practice as learnt in the weekly sessions. It all depends on the level of the students to spend less or more hours at their home.
After the first course, audio and video recordings will also be available for online course on Tantra. It is important some time to include the discussion part of audio-video for clear understanding of the content and the topics. The same will be included with prior permission of the students and participants. However, there is no fee/monetary or any other benefits involved for students.
Master-Disciple Tradition (oral tradition) is a Free /Independent Conscious Evolution and Transformation system where there is a two way communication between disciples and masters. For the sake of clarity, use of words Master- Disciple and Teacher-Student are different. In the traditional format, master is more concerned about the state of the mind, level of evolution of a student so that he can transmit the knowledge and practices aims at conscious evolution and transformation. In modern system, teacher is supposed to deliver a lecture followed by assignments and quizzes to complete the course. In contrast, master wants every student to evolve much more than gather information and qualify for certification.
There are few but important guidelines written below to help students to follow the oral tradition.
The course has been started on the request of many students undergoing teaching in Authentic Yoga Tradition. The cost is kept minimum to $60/hour. This means 3 hours of meeting /month will cost $180/month. The fees for online meeting will be extra; $15/meeting for an hour is optional as this will bear the cost of software and online hosting fees.
Please make sure your availability for the course on day and time mutually decided on weekends, preferably on Saturdays. However, if the participant cannot attend due to unforeseen circumstances, audio/ audio-files may be submitted to him /her for completing the course.
All papers, assignments submitted will be the property of Shreyas USA LLC, however, author/student can use it for use/printing to media with reference to the Shreyas USA LLC and its course. The selected papers unanimously by the Team of Shreyas and students will become a part of Text Book for future students. Shreyas –USA LLC will acknowledge the name of the author, brief profile and picture in the text at appropriate place. This decision is taken based on the tradition of Tantra (Authentic Yoga Tradition) where evolution of knowledge and practices had been done by over 3000 masters during 6000 years.
